EIT Raw Materials Expert Forum

From 27-29 June 2022 in Berlin, the sixth edition of the EIT Raw Materials Expert Forum, Europe’s leading raw materials innovation and education exchange, will bring together experts and innovators from various parts of the different raw materials value chains.

We will reflect on the EIT RawMaterials project portfolio and discuss new technological advances and business opportunities, explore industry needs for innovation and education, identify partner interests and promote matchmaking and consortia formation for project proposals.

Our dependence on 30 critical raw materials signals the urgent need to diversify our supply chains of raw materials and advanced materials, which will stimulate competition and innovation and make the European industrial ecosystem more resilient. Together we need to establish strong collaboration within Europe and non-EU countries and invest in responsible and circular raw material value chains, from extraction to materials and from product design to recycling.”

Where we, also using the tools provided by EIT RawMaterials, scouted for start-ups that could participate in our projects, among them the following were chosen for collaboration:
– REALME4MINE
– Optimal Slope
– Clean Resources
– Magnets and motors

We also noticed a growing trend in photovoltaic recycling. For this topic, discussions were initiated at the end of the year with a group having photovoltaic plants, and with the two universities, Bari and Warsaw Polytechnic, to start a Photovoltaic Recycling Social Project.
